‘A Century of Projects’ Celebrations begin with Rahul Deshpande’s Baithak #1

Gokhale Constructions recently completed its biggest milestone – a century of projects across Pune! A milestone this significant deserves a celebration befitting the trust and love Punekars have showered upon them for the last 12 years.

We here at Setu have always tried to bring in novel concepts for Punekars. So it was an honour for us to be a part of this celebration with Rahul Deshpande’s novel endeavour – Baithak, a series of Indian classical concerts which aims at bringing legendary artists and audiences closer. The idea was to introduce the youth of Pune to the nuances of classical music. The event was organized by White Copper Entertainment.

The first concert of the first-ever Baithak opened to an overwhelming response on 3rd September 2016 at Pandit Farms, Karve Nagar. What makes Baithak unique is Rahul Deshpande’s motive of creating a liking for Indian classical music by sharing some basic lessons in music appreciation. Rahul Deshpande enthralled the audiences with a stupendous performance as he spelled out the intricacies of musical concepts like sur, lai, taal, taan, nishaad, bandish etc. and how they blend together into a magical experience.

This musical day was a double celebration as Gokhale Constructions had also organized the handing-over ceremony for the soon-to-be residents of their project Briz in Pirangut. The tour of Briz’s 1 and 2 BHK homes in Virtual Reality by Digital Art VRe was an added attraction for the audiences of Baithak.

While some Punekars are known to ardently follow classical music concerts, others feel that it is quite challenging to understand and appreciate. Rahul Deshpande’s Baithak is an attempt to bridge this gap and we are proud to be associated with this noble cause. Having learnt some key elements in classical music, we are excited to take this initiative across other cities of Maharashtra so that more and more people can appreciate the magic of Indian classical music.
